Why is it important to know your salt intake?

Approximately 80% of the salt we consume is already added to processed foods such as bread, cheese, cold cuts, and ready-made meals. We only add 20% ourselves during cooking or at the table. By being aware of your salt intake, you can make healthier choices and reduce the risk of health problems.
